A Children’s Book about Prentis Park: A Talk in Prentis Park

The year 2023 marks the centennial of the founding of Prentis Park when Charles Prentis donated about 10 acres of land to the City of Vermillion for a community park. Earlier this year Evelyn Schlenker wrote a book about the history of Prentis Park, events that occurred in the park, and memories folks had of being in the park. The book is available on the Clay County Historic Preservation Commission (CCHPC) website.

Under the auspices of the Vermillion Historic Preservation Commission, Evelyn Schlenker wrote a new book about Prentis Park. Rebecca Gehm contributed beautiful watercolors to illustrate the book aimed at a younger audience. The children’s book is now on the CCHPC website for all to enjoy.
